This VIM shower drain kit includes 14 components, all engineered to work together as a complete, integrated drain assembly:
- Drain Cup – the structural housing at the core of the assembly
- Insert – seats precisely within the drain cup for a secure fit
- Lock Ring – secures the assembly components in place
- Drain Gasket – creates the watertight seal between components
- Adjuster – allows fine-tuning of drain height to match finished tile surface
- O-Ring – provides an additional layer of leak protection
- Retainer – locks the grate in place after installation
- Silicone Sealant – for sealing the drain cup to the shower pan during assembly
- Gasket Grease – ensures proper gasket seating and long term performance
- Lock Ring Tool – the right tool for tightening the lock ring correctly
- Grate Removal Tool – In case the strainer has to be removed
- M6 x 1.25mm Stainless Steel Screws – corrosion resistant fasteners for the drain cup
- M4 x 1.25mm Stainless Steel Screws – corrosion resistant fasteners for the insert

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this drain kit include the strainer grate?
No, however, the drain kit comes with a dummy strainer, used during construction of your shower. The permanent Strainer Grate is sold separately, in part so you can choose the finish and style that you want. Everything else needed to complete the drain assembly is included in this kit.
Do I need any tools beyond what's included in the kit?
The Lock Ring Tool and Grate Removal Tool are included, covering the specialty items. Standard trade tools you already own handle the rest of the installation.
